SAN ANGELO, TX -- Thunderstorms are scattered around the Concho Valley Tuesday night while the best chance for rain is Wednesday as a cold front blows through the area.
According to the National Weather Service, tonight scattered thunderstorms are expected to move east into the area this evening, affecting areas mainly north of a Sterling City to
Brownwood line. A few of these storms may approach severe levels, Large hail, damaging winds, and dangerous lightning will be the main threats.
There was a radar indicated severe thunderstorm with high winds and brief small hail in the Miles and Rowena area earlier this evening.
The forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday. It’ll be cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 56 by 4pm. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Temperatures and winds will remain temperate throughout the weekend with the next chance of rain for the Concho Valley expected Monday.
Tom Green County remains under a burn ban until further notice because of ongoing drought conditions.
