COTTONWOOD, CA - A ticket sold at a Circle K in Cottonwood, California, secured the $1.22 billion Mega Millions jackpot, marking the fifth-largest prize in the lottery’s history. The winning numbers from Friday night’s drawing were 3, 7, 37, 49, 55, and the gold Mega Ball 6.

The cash value of the jackpot is estimated at $549.7 million, according to Mega Millions. The jackpot had gone unclaimed for 30 consecutive drawings since it was last won in Texas on Sept. 10 for $810 million. The odds of hitting the jackpot were 1 in 302,575,350.

This marks the fourth Mega Millions jackpot won in 2024, with other notable wins, including a $552 million online ticket in Illinois in June and a $1.128 billion jackpot in New Jersey in March.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with tickets priced at $2 per play.
