Wicked Doll Misprint Directs to Adult Site; Mattel Apologizes

SAN ANGELO, TX— A major toy manufacturer has issued an apology for a misprint on their Wicked-themed toys as a website URL on the items sent consumers to an adult website.

The movie based on the famous musical “Wicked” is hitting theaters on Nov. 22, 2024, and like with other movies, toys have been released based on the characters.

Mattel, a toy company, has issued an apology as printing on the dolls and toys takes customers to an adult porn website. The official website for the movie is WickedMovie.com and the printing on the packaging for the toys simply says, Wicked.com.

Wicked.com is an adult website, which is a porn parody site.

Mattel said:

“Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel 'Wicked' collection dolls, primarily sold in the U.S., which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page. We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this. Parents are advised that the misprinted, incorrect website is not appropriate for children. Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or obscure the link and may contact Mattel Customer Service for further information."

That being said, the misprinted packaged toys are now being sold for hundreds of dollars online.
