Alan Jackson has Words for Garth Brooks

NASHVILLE, TX – Country music singer-songwriter and legend Alan Jackson doesn't consider himself a political or controversial figure, but his recent comments about fellow country music singer Garth Brooks are making headlines. Jackson confessed that while he usually keeps his faith out of public matters, he does speak up on issues concerning morality or values.

According to an interview conducted by Flagg Eagleton from the Patriot, Jackson was quoted as saying, "Brooks was never one of us," referring to a well-known group of country celebrities who set the bar for the genre's public persona, including Jackson, George Strait, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, among others. Jackson referred to the group as "All the good ones" and mentioned that Brooks was never invited to their discussions on the future of country music.

Reportedly, Brooks was exposed as a "progressive thinker" many years ago when he publicly supported abortion or the pro-choice movement. Jackson commented, "He's always been for killing babies," and also remarked, "and then there's the gays," alluding to Brooks' support for same-sex marriage. Jackson even suggested, "He's gonna have a tough time come judgment day," regarding Brooks and his forthcoming atonement.

Many fans of Garth Brooks defended him and accused Jackson of being "close-minded," speculating that Brooks might retaliate with strong words. However, when asked about Jackson's comments by ALLOD Entertainment Specialist Tara Newhole, Brooks responded, "I'm not really all that concerned. Alan's always been a bit of a snob. He thinks Jesus is gonna save everyone but me. I'm okay with it." The two country music legends clearly hold different opinions and values, but Jackson appears to be the more vocal of the two on this matter.
