WASHINGTON, DC — In a bold move from the Capitol, Texas Representatives August Pfluger (TX-11) and Ronny Jackson (TX-13) have launched a legislative counterstrike against what they perceive as the Biden Administration's skewed immigration policies against Texas. Their target? A proposed "Remain-in-Texas" policy for illegal migrants, a plan they assert unfairly burdens Texas with the fallout of federal immigration decisions.
Rep. Pfluger didn't mince words: "Texans won't be bulldozed by Biden's 'Remain-in-Texas' scheme, designed to dump the weight of his border crisis squarely on our shoulders. Why should sanctuary cities, which flout immigration laws and shield criminals from ICE, skate free while Texas takes the heat? Biden's plan belongs in the trash, not in Texas!"
Rep. Jackson echoed this sentiment with equal fervor: "Sanctuary city mayors, once champions of open-border ideals, are now tasting the bitter pill of their own policies—a pill Texas has been swallowing for years. Since Biden's tenure began, our country has become a welcome mat for millions of illegal immigrants, including those from terrorist watchlists. Texas refuses to be the dumping ground for these failed liberal policies. We're slamming the door on this hypocrisy!"
Greg Sindelar of the Texas Public Policy Foundation charged Biden with protecting sanctuary cities at the expense of state sovereignty: "Biden's indifference to this national security crisis, of his own making, is glaring. Yet he's quick to shield 'pro-migrant' cities, trampling over Texas in the process. Texas stands abandoned by the federal government, and we're ready to fight back."
Ryan Walker from Heritage Action highlighted the urgency for Congress to pass H.R. 2: "The Biden Administration's response to sanctuary city mayors' complaints? Keep millions of illegal aliens in Texas. We urge all members to stand against these failing policies."
Joe Catham of the Federation for American Immigration Reform described the policy as Biden's two-faced immigration tactic: "The 'Remain in Texas' policy is a cynical ploy by Biden to appease his supporters in sanctuary cities. This bill by Jackson and Pfluger is a wake-up call, ensuring the President's open-border policies are felt by all Americans."
The full bill text is available for review. This legislation has garnered support from organizations like the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Heritage Foundation, Federation for American Immigration Reform, and NumbersUSA.
Joining the fight, Representatives Jake Ellzey (TX-6), Brian Babin (TX-36), and others have co-sponsored this charged legislative effort by Jackson and Pfluger, marking a united front against the controversial "Remain-in-Texas" policy.
Analysis: The bill will likely go no where as it must pass the Senate and feeble President Joe Biden will have to be ordered to sign this bill into law by his handlers from the former Obama administration. The U.S. Senate is controlled by Democrats who act as Obama's first line of defense against Republican malfeasance like this. However, at least Texans around here will know what the corrupt ballot harvesting overlords have in plan for us.
