SAN ANGELO, TX — On Wednesday, nobody matched the six numbers required to win the Powerball jackpot.
With no winners during the Wednesday drawing, the jackpot has now moved to $510 million ahead of the Saturday drawing. The purse is the eighth largest lottery jackpot in US history.
Players of the popular lottery game have multiple options when it comes to claiming the prize. The $510 million references the annuity option, in which players have the prize money paid out over 29 years. Players can also take the cash option, which would be $324.2 million with the current jackpot before state and federal taxes are applied.
In the U.S., 44 states plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands play the Powerball.
Good luck winning the jackpot, though. The odds of winning are one in 292.2 million.
