Congressman Conaway Applauds Judge’s Ruling on Obamacare Lawsuit

The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives received a green light to proceed with a lawsuit against President Barack Obama’s administration over unauthorized money spent on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.

U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled in the House’s favor yesterday. The House filed the lawsuit in Nov. 2014 alleging that Obama administration officials overreached in authorizing payments from the U.S. Treasury to insurance companies and delaying the 2010 law’s employer mandate.

Congressman Mike Conaway applauded the ruling yesterday.

“I am glad to see a U.S. District Judge give Congressional Republicans the green light to proceed with a lawsuit against the Obama Administration’s unconstitutional implementation of Obamacare. When the President and his administration implemented his signature health care law, they spent taxpayer dollars that Congress did not authorize. This is a blatant constitutional violation that cannot be ignored. We will continue the fight against Obamacare until no American is subject to this illegal law,” Conaway said in a statement.
