Congressman Conaway Reacts to Israeli Prime Minister's Address to Congress Tuesday

Washington  –  Congressman Mike Conaway released the following statement in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address before a Joint Session of Congress:

“Today, Prime Minister Netanyahu reminded the United States Congress that we are at a critical juncture in history with the potential to impact the future of not only our nation, but the world. With the deadline for a deal with Iran regarding its nuclear program looming, this address  from Prime Minister Netanyahu to Congress and the American people came at the right time.

“Once again, President Obama has proven his poor negotiating skills in his talks with Iran. The President’s current ‘deal’ will not prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. It will not only put our ally Israel’s national security in peril, but the security and stability of the world in danger as well.

“Right now, we are at the point of no return. The decisions we make must be clear and courageous. I applaud Prime Minister Netanyahu’s steadfast commitment to the people of his nation. I now call on President Obama to follow suit, and stand up for the people of Israel and the people of the United States of America.”

Same speech he gave in the 90's. King Bibi offered no solutions then either. The thing is, Israel has never sought peace, its has always been brought to them by the United States.

I'm really not worried about Iran at this point. There are plenty of other nations that help keep Iran in check and Israel is perfectly capable of defending itself. If they aren't then they need to stop settling Gaza. I fully support Israel, but you can only poke a rabid dog so many times before it bites. If they are going to continue to settle, then they don't need to call on us to defend them when they get bitten.

Now North Korea are the ones that I am worried about. China is having a very difficult time keeping the new regime in check and I think that their fearless leader is just crazy enough to do something very soon to help hold on to his power. We cannot fight two wars effectively and a choice has to be made as to who is really the threat.

The only reason that the American right wing adores Israel is that they are supposed to fulfill a biblical prophecy that will bring about the return of Jesus Christ. His return resulting in the death of most of the Jewish people of course.
