Any guitarist will tell you that the strings are pretty important when it comes to achieving that desired sound.
Most of the time, when we think guitar, we think rock and roll or even country, and most of the players in this genre are using strings made from steel. In some style, however, it’s common or even preferred to use nylon strings.
Classical guitars use nylon strings, due to design. Traditionally, strings were made from fun stuff like guts and silk. Nowadays, nylon does the job. Nylon is a plastic, and as we all know, plastics are derived from petroleum.
So when you’re sitting at home make those sweet melodies on your classical guitar, you’re actually playing oil. Sort of.
