It's Time: Letters to the Editor at San Angelo LIVE!

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo LIVE! is constantly striving to promote the public conversation about social issues, politics, and local events and all the issues affecting the residents of West Central Texas.

The editorial staff has reached a consensus that now is the time to offer the opportunity for our readers to express their opinions through letters to the editor.

This conversation is entitled "What Do You Think?"

This temporary experiment (which we hope become permanent) comes with some rules and depending upon engagement, civility and progressing the public conversation in this era of harsh anonymous social media, we'll see how it goes.

Letters to the editor can include endorsements of political candidates.

Here are some of the ground rules which are subject to change:

San Angelo LIVE! reserves the right not to publish letters we deem inappropriate.

Every letter to the editor must be signed with the writers name, email address, phone number and a photo of the author. No exceptions.

Anonymous letters will not be published.

Letters that criticize public or private individuals without written, certified and proven evidence will not be published.

With the demise of the former local newspaper we are opening up this opportunity for conversation and debate about issues that will promote the vitality and progress of all of West Central Texas.

This project is an opportunity to advance the public conversation; it is a move forward to addressing the pressing issues of the day with the unique West Central Texas audience through a sharing of diverse opinions.

Letters will be accepted by email at [email protected], by mail and in person at 2001 W. Beauregard Ave.

San Angelo LIVE! will determine when letters are published.
