COVER1 PREGAME SHOW | Can the Concho Valley Survive Past the Regional Semifinals?

The Cover1 Crew of James Bouligny, Ryan Chadwick, and Matt Cutrer talk about a ground and pound game in Wall vs. Lubbock Roosevelt. Can The Four Horsemen continue to dominate on defense?

Also, the Sonora Broncos face a familiar foe in the Hawley Bearcats. Can the Broncos beat the Bearcats at San Angelo Stadium?

WALL VS LUBBOCK ROOSEVELT AT 5 P.M. ON 11/24 (SWEETWATER)

RYAN CHADWICK - The No. 8 Wall Hawks may be favored in the Regional Round matchup against Lubbock Roosevelt, but Wall needs to watch out for an upset. Coach Guy said at practice this week that Roosevelt runs an offense similar to the Hawks, and they do it well. Wall may be familiar with the triple-option, but they are not experienced in defending it. Wall has the athletes on their side, but this should still be one heck of a game.  PICK: WALL 28 ROOSEVELT 14

JAMES BOULIGNY - The Wall Hawks are going to get after it and, even though they’ve hit a few speed bumps along the way. The Hawks, and The Four Horsemen, are going to win this one by two scores.

PICK: WALL 28 ROOSEVELT 14

MATT TRAMMELL - ROOSEVELT

OTHER PICKS: SCOTT MENCHACA - WALL | ERNESTO RODRIGUEZ - WALL | YANTIS GREEN - WALL | MATT CUTRER - WALL

MIDLAND LEGACY VS ALLEN AT 4 P.M. ON 11/24 (ABILENE)

CHADWICK - After the upset against Euless Trinity in overtime a week ago, these Rebels must be riding high. Let’s hope there is not much of a hangover period after such a big win because the Allen Eagles do not play around. In year’s past I would have said that Legacy needed to fear Allen, but this year, I think Legacy is talented enough to pull out a win. PICK: MIDLAND LEGACY 42 ALLEN 41

BOULIGNY - Metroplex schools are tough to beat and the Eagles are one of the best in the state. Legacy will lack the star power in this one.

PICK: ALLEN 35 MIDLAND LEGACY 10

TRAMMELL - PICK: ALLEN

OTHER PICKS: MENCHACA - ALLEN | RODRIGUEZ - LEGACY | GREEN - LEGACY | CUTRER - LEGACY

SONORA VS HAWLEY AT 6 P.M. ON 11/24 (SNYDER)

BOULIGNY -  The Sonora Broncos are out for revenge in this one. It’s personal now. Hawley has two dangerous weapons in Diontay Ramon and Chandlin Myers but the Broncos have Edgar DeLuna, who will help Jaime Buitron keep things under control for the Broncos behind Elijah Samaniego and Jacob Martinez. Watch out for Kam Aguero and Dylan Ford.

PICK: SONORA 32 HAWLEY 31

CHADWICK - As talented as Sonora’s playmakers are this season, I think the Broncos are too banged up to beat the defending state champions. Hawley is not as good as they were a season ago, but they still are a really good football team. If Sonora wants to win this one, they need to take advantage of at least one takeaway on defense and commit zero turnovers on offense. PICK: HAWLEY 42 SONORA 35

TRAMMELL - HAWLEY

OTHER PICKS: MENCHACA - SONORA  | RODRIGUEZ - SONORA | GREEN - SONORA | CUTRER - SONORA
