WATCH: Shannon Doctors Take COVID-19 Vaccine on Camera

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Coronavirus vaccine was administered to a number of health care workers at Shannon Medical Center Tuesday. 

In the video above, Shannon doctors working on the frontlines of the coronavirus were first to take the shot.

As previously reported, on Dec. 15, Shannon received 1,950 Pfizer coronavirus vaccines. The first round will be given to health care workers on the front line then long term care workers will be vaccinated followed by first responders.

Shannon stated today that they will be receiving shipments of vaccines weekly.

Doctors claimed the shots were less painful than a flu shot. Mild symptoms can happen with the vaccine but major systems like an allergic reaction are rare. 

Shannon was one of 23 hospitals in the state of Texas to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Other companies are expected to release their version of a vaccine very soon.
