WATCH: Abilene Mayor Tests Positive for Coronavirus

ABILENE, TX – The Mayor of Abilene announced Wednesday that he has tested positive for Coronavirus. 

Mayor Anthony Williams confirmed on July 29 during a Facebook Live that he tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday after coming into contact with a another positive patient who was volunteering at a non-profit.

Mayor Williams received his positive test through a PCR test. 

As of now he is quarantined with his wife. The two are asymptomatic but if she begins showing symptoms she will get tested. 

Currently Abilene has 1,036 cases of COVID-19.
