Walmart Cheese Danishes, Cinnamon Rolls Recalled

WASHINGTON — More than 43,000 cheese Danishes and cinnamon rolls sold at Walmart stores nationwide are being recalled due to potential contamination with pieces of plastic, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

Ohio-based JM Smucker Company LLC issued a voluntary recall for 2,027 cases of Great Value Cheese Danish products and 1,602 cases of Great Value Cinnamon Rolls. The affected items were sold in 16.5 oz packages with UPC codes 078742201177 (cheese Danish) and 078742201160 (cinnamon rolls). Both batches are marked with lot number L092525200 269X.

The recall, originally announced on Nov. 1, was classified Tuesday by the FDA as a “Class II” recall, meaning the products may pose a health risk if consumed. Walmart customers are urged to check their purchases and dispose of any affected items.
