Brown County Sheriff's Office Jailer Dies of Covid-19

 

BROWNWOOD, TX –– The Brown County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of their own.

According to BCSO, Christopher Sawders, who worked as a jailer at the county jail, lost the battle against Covid-19.  Sawders contracted the virus while carrying out his duties.

"Our flags here at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office are flying at half staff in honor of fallen Jailer Christopher Sawders," said BCSO in a post on social media. "All the Brown County Sheriff’s Office employees want to extend heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Sawders family."

The 54-year-old graduated from Brownwood High before joining the  US Army and then went on to have a career in law enforcement. According to his obituary, he had recently married his best friend –– Marsha Sawders.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30th from 6:oo p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held on Friday, October 1st at 10:oo a.m. at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early, TX.
