SAN ANGELO, TX – Anyone over the age of 18 with certain health conditions can now get the COVID-19 vaccine in San Angelo.
According to the City of San Angelo's Public Information Office, on Mar. 16, registration for the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine is still open through the Health Department. They are now opening the registration to anyone 18 and older with one of the listed underlying health conditions. Priority will still be given to people that are 65 and older.
"We do have a limited amount of vaccines allocated at this time," stated the press release. "Once approved, the Health Department will notify you about when your vaccination will be and where. If you are not approved this time, your information will be reviewed whenever the health department receives its next shipment of vaccines."
Health conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID‑19 illness, including but not limited to:
- Cancer
- Chronic kidney disease
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Down Syndrome
- Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
- Organ transplantation
- Obesity
- Pregnancy
- Sickle cell disease
- Type 2 diabetes
