SAN ANGELO, TX – State Health officials confirmed Wednesday that over 20 percent of Tom Green County residents have already been vaccinated for COVID-19.
According to the Department of State Health Services, as of Wednesday 14,007 citizens in Tom Green County have been fully vaccinated for the coronavirus.
To be eligible for the vaccine you must be 16 years or older. The population in Tom Green County over the age of 18 is 63,874.
21,438 citizens in Tom Green County have been given one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The following are qualifications for receiving the coronavirus vaccination:
- anyone age 50+
- anyone working at a school or childcare operation
- healthcare workers and first responders
- other individuals under the age of 50 with at least one of the following health conditions:
- Cancer
- Chronic kidney disease
- COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
- Down Syndrome
- Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies, solid organ transplantation
- Obesity and severe obesity
- Sickle cell disease
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Organ Transplant
- Pregnant
