Educators Can Now Receive the COVID-19 Vaccination

SAN ANGELO, TX – As states begin to fully reopen, the federal government is instructing COVID-19 vaccine providers to prioritize teachers, school staff, and child care workers.

"All COVID-19 vaccination providers are directed and required to make available and administer, as one of the currently eligible groups, COVID-19 vaccine to those who work in pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff, and bus drivers) and those who work as or for licensed child care providers, including center-based and family care providers."

In response to the federal directive,  the Texas Department of State Health Services is asking all vaccine providers in Texas to actively reach out to education personnel to ensure they have the option to be immunized.
