LUBBOCK, TX —A nearly two-year-old baby died Thursday after she swallowed a button battery.
According to KCBD, on Dec. 17, Reese Hamsmith, 17 months old, died from severe burns to her throat, esophagus, and vocal cords.
Reese was taken to the United Medical Center after she swallowed a battery in November.
She was then taken to a hospital in Houston where she later died.
Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help with travel and medical.
