Jones County Sheriff Hospitalized With Covid

ANSON, TX --  The Jones County Sheriff's Office has confirmed Sheriff Danny Jimenez is battling COVID-19.

According to the agency, Sheriff Jimenez was hospitalized after testing positive. 

"He, along with other COVID-19 patients, are experiencing good and bad days," said Chief Deputy Sarah Alfaro in a news release. "At this time, the medical staff is working tirelessly and around the clock to provide the best treatment for our Sheriff and all other patients."

Alfaro has asked citizens to refrain from contacting Sheriff Jimenez directly "as rest and a stress-free environment will assist in his recovery."
