Midland Memorial Sets Up FEMA Tents for COVID-19 Patients

MIDLAND, TX -- As Midland County announced the transition to reduced capacity due to a significant uptick in hospitalizations, local hospitals are preparing for the surge.

The Chief Nursing Officer at Midland Memorial Hospital, Kit Bredimus, confirmed the hospital has begun setting up FEMA tents outside.

On Tuesday morning, the hospital confirmed it had a total of 101 COVID-19 patients. This means 89 percent of COVID-19 rooms are currently occupied.

FEMA tents are currently being used in El Paso and Lubbock as those cities experience COVID-19 surges.
