Coronavirus: Nearly 5 Dozen New Cases Confirmed Thursday

SAN ANGELO, TX -- On Thursday afternoon 59 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. This brings the weekly total to 229 new cases in just four days.

Thursday's cases deviated from the pattern that had been developing for weeks and saw an increase in cases for patients under the age of 20. Nearly 27 percent of the cases belonged to teens.

Tom Green County residents continue to account for more than 88 percent of the casess. 

The current active case has reached 499, the highest it has been in months. 

At least seven people have been hospitalized since yesterday, brining the total number to 39.

The cases were confirmed using 11 PCR tests and 48 antigen tests.
