Abilene ISD Confirms First Case of COVID-19

 

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Independent School District has confirmed its first case of COVID-19 since classes began on Monday.

According to information from the AISD, a student at Madison Middle School tested positive Tuesday.

The student will be quarantined for ten days according to AISD policy.

According to KTXS in a statement, the district said, “Prior to students returning to campus, two AISD staff members assigned to campuses at Abilene High School and Ward Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19, Additionally, one other staff member – assigned to the One AISD building – tested positive. None of the three staff members were in contact with students, and all three are currently in quarantine."
