Coronavirus: Permian Basin Positive Cases Surpass 5,800 on Tuesday

 

MIDLAND, TX – Coronavirus numbers in the Permian Basin continue to rise as the number of positive cases reaches 5,832 on Tuesday.

According to CBS7, on August 4, Midland county had 2,423 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as the neighboring Ector County reported 3,409 positive cases. 

On Tuesday, Ector County reported 122 new positive cases, 906 active cases, and 51 deaths.  2,452 patients that have recovered.  

Meanwhile, Midland County reported 61 new positive cases, 756 active cases, and 44 deaths. 

Ector County officials recorded 2,452 recoveries on Tuesday as Midland County officials listed 1,290 recoveries, 140 unable to locate/refuse, and currently 24 patients hospitalized at MMH.
