I read an article yesterday that stated someone in Texas dies of CV every >6 minutes, CV-19 is far past serious it is catastrophic . Also Texas Rep Louie Gohmert who refused to wear a mask has tested positive for the democratic hoax. The democratic hoax just keeps making bigger fools out of the in denial republicans of which there seem to be a few of in this forum, they know who they are.

If one looks up the word "Idiot" in the dictionary one sees a picture of Gomer Gohmert. He has long demonstrated himself to fit the definition of that term, and this mask business just continues that trend.

999 Herman Cain died of stupidity and used CV-19 as the method. He attended both the Tulsa and Arizona Trump rallies and did not wear a mask thereby earning the label stupid. If these Trump worshiping republicans keep doing stupid things there won't be anyone to vote for Trump, pity.

Whatever this invisible thing is, it doesn’t play fair. The families don’t deserve any of this. I don’t believe this is a natural thing either. Non GMO on products mean scientists have been experimenting with strands of dna. The same thing happened once scientists figured out how to make hydrogen bombs or split the atom. Trust the scientists they say, but most of their discoveries end up being a weapon. Who won the last Nobel Peace Prize that really benefited any of us.

Some of the deserving winners of the peace prize had to resign in disgust to get away from all the power mongers in the world

Having looked up the times online your "source" is either Newsweek or USA today, (who was actually cited by Newsweek), and i think what they give is every 6.12 minutes as a death in Texas; both of these sources of course are known as rabid right wing media!

Lets look at a few "facts " shall we?
1. The current population of Texas is 27.4 million people, give or take a million dependent on which site you chose to use.
2. There are 432,000 people infected with Covid 19 in Texas. - gives an infection rate of 1.58% statewide
3. There are a reported number of deaths for Texas as 6,984 sadly passed individuals. - gives a mortality rate of 0.03% state wide.
Comparison to Flu: Please remember we actually have a vaccine for Flu, but anyhow:
1. There has been 51,805 positive Flu tests in Texas up to the end of June.- this gives a statewide infection rate of 0.19% ( we have tested WAY more people for Covid than for the flu, and the current estimate is that around 45% of the population received the Flu vaccine this year)
2. There have been 9,329 deaths due to pneumonia and Influenza associated deaths. - This gives a statewide mortality rate of 0.03% ( its the same because the most common cause is pneumonia in Covid AND flu association.)
Now to your 6 minute claim:
The first Covid associated death in Texas was on March 17th ; there has been 136 days since then. That time accounts for 195,840 minutes. Given the number of reported deaths that would be 1 death every 28.04 minutes; 4.7 times greater than the 6 minutes you cited.

I get really annoyed when all people can do is spread fear and despondency, Fear is more dangerous than the virus because of how it makes people react. The "six minutes" claim is designed to spread fear and by repeating it without looking at actual factual numbers means you perpetuate the fear.
I am not saying there is nothing to be afraid of, or that this virus is nothing, it is obviously dangerous and obviously deadly and my heart goes out to those who have lost family because of it. But it is not all doom and gloom. The mortality rate is not what we were told it would be, people are recovering, and as stated, we will eventually get a vaccine, as we have for flu, but even with vaccines, as shown by the Flu numbers, people still die due to age/underlying conditions etc.
Be careful should be the message. If you have risk factors make sure you consider them before leaving your home; wash your hands regularly and if in any doubt, wash them again. Wear your mask, some say it makes no difference, but some say it does, so err on the side of caution and wear it. Keep your social distancing, be polite, but watch how close you get to others. Do everything you can do to keep you and your family safe, but do not live in fear. " If you live your life living in fear or doubt, you will never actually live life". Behad Sami.

That's a real relief to know that people are dying of CV-19 every 28 minutes instead of every 6 minutes. FYI I didn't write the article but was commenting on what I read. I never said that I verified or agreed with the article I simply stated the death rate is past serious and is catastrophic, is there any disagreement on that? Do tell Ironic, are you downplaying the seriousness of the CV-19? Sure sounds like you are. If you insist on whining about the reported death rate in the article then you should direct your whine to the publisher, USA today.

Several US states set fatality records

The record numbers of new weekly coronavirus cases that Arizona, Florida, Texas and California experienced a month ago are now playing out as record numbers of deaths in those states. Texas' death toll continues to rise, and the state had a record 1,607 deaths in the week ending Monday, a USA TODAY analysis shows. That translates into a Texan dying every 6 minutes, 16 seconds, and no sign of any relief. Texas' weekly death toll is more than seven times its worst week through April.

You can calculate that Mr. Ironic

Here is the source source. Notice the period is not from March 17 but only a week.
