Coronavirus: Fatalities Surpass 3,500 Statewide

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – On Thursday the Texas Department of State Health Services reported 2,992,102 total tests administered with 133,158 active cases of coronavirus in Texas. 

Prior to Friday's update from the DSHS, the number of cases reported had risen from the 275,058 previously reported to the 292,656 listed in Thursday's report. 

Fatality tolls increased from the 3,322 reported on Tuesday to the 3,561 recorded Thursday.

On Thursday, DSHS reported there were approximately 155,937 recoveries statewide. 

Roughly  2,699,855 of the positive cases have been confirmed using viral testing, while an additional 224,433 have been confirmed using antibody testing.

Counties with the most active cases are Harris county with 50,370 active cases, followed by Dallas with 36,969, and Tarrant with 19,871.

The counties with the highest number of fatalities are Harris county with 491, followed by Dallas 485, and Tarrant county with 277. 

Counties with the highest number of recoveries are Dallas with 19,433, Harris with 16,786, and Tarrant with 12,871. 

According to DSHS the state averages approximately 129 new Covid-19 related fatalities daily.
