Lynn County Sheriff Dies After Battling COVID-19

 

TAHOKA, TX — The Lynn County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Sunday morning the passing of Sheriff Abraham Vega after fighting COVID-19 for more two weeks.

According to KTXS, Vega’s wife, Rachel, had confirmed via Facebook Vega had been hospitalized at a Lubbock hospital for two weeks. She confirmed Vega had spent nine of the fourteen days on a ventilator.

Four days before he passed, Vega was airlifted to a hospital in Dallas to receive additional treatment.

Mrs. Vega expressed her gratitude for the “amazing team of doctors and nurses who tried every option to help” her husband.
