SNYDER, TX — The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has confirmed the passing of a corrections officer at the Daniel Unit in Snyder after a few weeks after testing positive for coronavirus.
According to KTXS, 60-year-old Kenneth Harbin was being treated at the Covenant Hospital in Lubbock since June 28.
Even though he showed signs of improvement, Harbin, unfortunately, took an unexpected turn for the worse and passed away on the morning of July 4.
“Every death of one of our own is a tragic loss, said TDCJ Executive Director Bryan Collier. “The thoughts and prayers of his family in gray are with Officer Harbin’s loved ones and friends. He will not be forgotten.”
“Officer Harbin was a great Correctional Officer and a better friend. He was always had a smile or a joke to make the day better! He always uplifted those around him and would take time out of his day to make sure you were ok,” said Daniel Unit Senior Warden Michael Britt. “He was a selfless person and gave all he could to those he loved.”
As of Monday, the Daniel Unit has confirmed seven active employee cases. On Thursday, TDCJ reported a total of 227 inmates have tested positive as well as 13 employees.

PermalinkNot to be the guy who doesn't buy the whole covid 19 thing and be a douche, but it says he recovered and then died. So not an actual covid death or is it? I won't mention the underlying health conditions that he had since you didn't.
