Coronavirus: More Than 400 Recovered in the Permian Basin

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Permian Basin is seeing a significant increase in new coronavirus cases. 

The City of Midland has confirmed 563 positive cases as of June 29. There are currently 18 patients hospitalized at Midland Memorial. Ten nursing home residents have contracted the virus. 119 patients have recovered from COVID-19 but 430 are currently self-isolated at home with the virus. 

In Ector County, officials have now been counting positive cases as well as probable cases. The combined numbers show 807 total cases of COVID-19 with 73 of those cases reported on June 26. 

Eight people have died due to coronavirus complications but 290 patients have recovered. County health officials have confirmed that all "probable" cases are positive test results received through rapid testing. 

Between the two, 1,370 patients have COVID-19 and 409 have recovered from Coronavirus.
