Coronavirus: Snyder Confirms 39 New Cases Were False Positives

SNYDER, TX— The Scurry County Judge Dan Hicks confirmed on Wednesday that the 39 new cases reported at the Snyder Oaks Care Facility were false positives.

According to KTXS, the sudden increase in the numbers raised red flags because there were “no reports, or evidence, of symptoms present in those tested; either at the time of the test, nine days ago, or since."

On Tuesday DSHS stated it suspected a lab error, but the reason for a large number of false positives is unknown.

All 39 patients were retested, and all came back negative. According to Hicks, the county is confident in the second set of tests. The third round of testing will be completed on Wednesday to confirm the latest results.
