ODESSA, TX – After spending three weeks hospitalized Claudia Monclova was released from Odessa Regional Medical Center after testing negative for the virus for the second time.
According to CBS7, Moclava’s symptoms began with shortness of breath and chest pains. According to her husband, Henry, Monclava had cold chills and soon began having trouble getting up and walking around the house.
Monclava spent some time on a respirator and according to her family almost lost her last week.
“The first week, I was a mess. But the last two weeks with everyone behind me, it’s just helping me and uplifting me. We’re thinking positive and we’re standing here today now,” said Monclova.
Monclava’s family, friends, and pastor supported Monclava during these difficult times.
After spending a week battling the virus, Monclava’s doctors used a new medication that showed positive progress within 24 hours.
“It’s a miracle story. You know by the grace of God it happened overnight. The whole time I was waiting at home waiting for her, lonely.” said Henry.“But I did have my pastor. I had the church community. I had lots of friends, family able to see her come out of the hospital. That is a big accomplishment right there.”
