BAIRD, TX – Callahan County Judge G. Scott Kniffen announced its first case of coronavirus on Tuesday. Kniffen said the confirmed case of COVID-19 is an individual between 50 and 64-years-old and their contraction of the disease was travel related.
The County Judge is calling an emergency Commissioners' Court meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in order to brief commissioners and discuss an issuance of a stay-at-home order in Callahan County.
"I urge you all to continue to practice the safety precautions recommended by the CDC and the Texas DSHS," Kniffen said. "Please keep this individual, the other victims of this disease, our first responders, our medical personnel and our State and Nation in your prayers."
