Coronavirus: Authorities Urge Everyone to Wear Masks Outside Home

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Local Health Authority is recommending that all citizens wear cloth face coverings while out in public settings (grocery stores, pharmacies, workplaces) to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a webpage that outlines how to make masks with household materials.

Please note that the cloth face coverings recommended by the CDC are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those critical supplies must be reserved for healthcare workers and first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance. We have also attached a copy of the official recommendation.
