Join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s This Saturday

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Alzheimer’s Association invites everyone to the San Angelo Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 19th at the Sunset Mall.

The event is a special way to honor those affected by this disease with Promise Flowers during a Promise Garden Ceremony, representing the personal reasons why everyone joins together to fight Alzheimer’s.

“Nearly 400 thousand Texans are living with Alzheimer’s disease,” said Julie Gray, Alzheimer’s Association Walk Manager.

“Texas ranks 4th in the number of Alzheimer's cases and 2nd in Alzheimer's deaths in the nation. Seeing San Angelo put its muscle into the fight is one of the most gratifying things you will ever witness.”

It is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. More than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

The walk will be two miles long and will feature a circus theme with a children’s area featuring face painting, balloons, circus games, and popcorn.
