Over 430,000 Pounds of Chicken Recalled due to Metal Fragment Contamination

WASHINGTON D.C.-- Wayne Farms, LLC, out of Decatur, Ala., recalled roughly 438,960 pounds of chicken on Wednesday.

The recall was issued after investigation into a customer complaint from July revealed "extraneous materials, specifically metal pieces" may have contaminated the chicken.

The frozen, ready-to-cook products were produced from July 14-17.

There have been no reported injuries from the contamination. The Food and Drug Administration urges anyone who fears injury from the contamination to contact a health care provider.
