The Neighbors Emergency Center San Angelo location will begin seeing patients Saturday, August 27, the company stated in a press release Thursday.
The facility is located at 3417 Sherwood Way, and will be the second Neighbors Emergency Center to offer medical care in an exciting, revamped setting unlike any other emergency center in the nation. Neighbors stated the new 8,432-square-foot center places care services in the front, not the back, of the center, providing a transparent, patient-centric experience.
As patients arrive at the emergency center, they are greeted by caregivers located at the reception desk, allowing a first-sight triage and assessment of patients. Critically ill or injured patients are taken directly into treatment rooms. The examination areas are in close proximity, instead of being hidden in the back.
Neighbors Emergency Center, the leader in 24-hour emergency care, specializes in personalized ER attention with little wait time and no crowded waiting areas. Neighbors provides a laboratory and on-site imaging services such as X-Ray, CT Scans and Ultrasounds. Local board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room experience can treat all adult and pediatric emergencies.
Some of the emergencies Neighbors treats are Abdominal Pain, Infections, Fever and Flu, Allergic Reactions, Burns, Sprains and Fractures, Head Injuries, Sports Injuries, Concussions, Stroke, High Blood Pressure, Hypertension, and Advanced Cardiac and Pediatric Life Support emergencies.
Neighbors accepts most major private insurance.
Neighbors state it is excited to join the San Angelo community, and will bring jobs and high quality emergency care to west Texas.
As new neighbors in San Angelo, Neighbors Emergency Center will bring a 24-hour emergency center design that is focused on a number of striking elements.
The facility is wrapped in glass and perforated aluminum metal panels. The panels subtly reflect their surroundings in a diffused pattern to highlight sensitivity to place, while at night, they transform to a glowing lantern effect, presenting a reassuring destination for those seeking care and treatment.
"This is a fundamental culture change in how we operate our existing centers and how emergency centers across the country operate today," said Setul G. Patel, MD, MBA, FAAEM, CEO, Neighbors Health, LLC. "With the new design, we can accomplish every aspect of our care delivery, including concern of the critically ill, privacy matters, infection control and enhanced patient flow."
This is the third Neighbors Emergency Center in the West Texas region and represents one of many new locations to open this year in Texas. San Angelo is at the junction of the North and South Concho Rivers.
Neighbors Health, LLC operates Neighbors Emergency Center, a series of 24-hour freestanding emergency centers that have seen rapid growth in Texas since 2009. Neighbors' 25+ locations service many communities, including Houston, Austin, El Paso, Beaumont, and the Permian Basin, with plans for centers in areas that include College Station, Rhode Island and Colorado in 2016.

I strongly suggest that people considering this place first investigate the charges associated with its services and its acceptance of insurance more commonly recognized at more traditional emergency care providers.
Places like this are for profit. I am simply suggesting that people do due diligence.

PermalinkI went and looked at the Yelp reviews of this business. I have to agree with your assessment. This is a strictly money making venture. I think the best advice that I saw on the reviews is to go to this business only if you have no other viable alternative. https://www.yelp.com/biz/neighbors-emergency-center-austin-2

PermalinkI don't understand the comment, Gump? Are you saying there are ERs in town where I won't be charged?
