Today, the leading accreditor of U.S. health care organizations, The Joint Commission, named San Angelo Community Medical Center (SACMC) one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®. SACMC was recognized for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions, said a press release Wednesday.
According to the release, SACMC is one of only 1,043 hospitals out of more than 3,300 eligible hospitals in the nation to achieve the distinction. The hospital was recognized Top Performers on Key Quality Measures® for excellence in the heart attack, surgical care and immunization measure sets. The ratings are based on data reported to The Joint Commission in 2014.
This is the fourth time SACMC has been recognized as a Top Performer. Previously, The Joint Commission recognized the hospital for its achievement on heart attack, pneumonia, surgical care and heart failure measure sets.
“San Angelo Community’s first priority is providing patients with high quality, safe and effective care through proven practices that improve outcomes and the patient experience,” said Jeremy Riney, CEO of SACMC. “We are proud to be named to The Joint Commission’s list of Top Performers. The credit goes to our medical staff, employees and volunteers whose hard work every day makes this possible.”
Riney added that the clinicians at SACMC are dedicated to treating patients with established protocols to give them the best possible outcomes.
He stated, “It’s an honor to have the standard of care we provide here recognized on a national level.”
