Kraft Recalls 242,000 Cases of Macaroni and Cheese due to Metal Contamination

Kraft is recalling approximately 242,000 cases of Original flavor Macaroni & Cheese due to bits of metal being found in some of the boxes.

The recalled product includes only 7.25-ounce boxes with “best when used by” dates of Sept. 8, 2015 through Oct. 11, 2015 with the code “C2” printed directly below the date. The code C2 refers to a specific production line. The recall also extends to boxes sold in multi-packs.

So far, Kraft has received eight customer complaints regarding boxes produced with the C2 code within the given date range, however no injuries have been reported, the company said in a press release.

Still, Kraft is advising consumers not to eat the product and to instead return it to the store of purchase for an exchange or full refund.

The affected boxes were shipped throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and some South American and Caribbean countries.

My wife purchased a multi-pack of this lot in San Angelo at Walmart on 29th st. Thankfully, we hadn't even tore the cellophane off yet.
