Abilene Zoo to Celebrate 60th Birthday with Zippity Zoo Day

ABILENE, TX — The Abilene Zoo will celebrate its 60th anniversary with Zippity Zoo Day on Saturday, inviting guests to enjoy a full day of family-friendly activities, animal encounters and birthday festivities.
The celebration will feature up-close animal encounters, special birthday enrichment activities for zoo animals, yard games, a party hat craft station and appearances by Grover throughout the day. Guests will also receive free cake and ice cream while supplies last as the zoo commemorates six decades of serving the Big Country.
The event is included with regular zoo admission, and visitors who are 60 years of age or older will receive free admission as part of the anniversary celebration.
Zippity Zoo Day is one of several special events planned by the Abilene Zoo this year and is designed to celebrate the zoo's history while providing interactive experiences for visitors of all ages. Guests will have opportunities to learn more about the animals through enrichment demonstrations and special keeper activities throughout the day.
The Abilene Zoo, located at 2070 Zoo Lane, is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the summer, with last admission at 3 p.m. The zoo encourages guests to purchase tickets in advance and arrive early to take advantage of the day's activities.
