Is the Band Named "B3" the Next Big Deal in Texas Music? Decide for yourself this weekend.

SAN ANGELO, TX — B3, led by Texas guitarist and songwriter Bryce Waters, is bringing two nights of raw, high-energy rock to the Arc Light Bar & Grill in San Angelo on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16. Doors at 8:00 p.m., music at 9:00 p.m. Advance tickets are just $5 — one of the best deals you’ll find for a band with this much momentum and deep Texas scene credibility.

The Sound: Cowboy Punk Rock & Roll

Hailing from Van Buren, Arkansas and now based out of New Braunfels, B3 is a five-piece powerhouse delivering the raw, electrifying sound they call “Cowboy Punk.” After nearly a decade of creating music and exploring multiple genres, Bryce Waters has carved out a style that blends gritty rock and roll with a rebellious country edge.

Country storytelling verses crash into punk choruses, metal breakdowns loaded with pinch harmonics, heavy riffs, and soulful, melodic vocals inspired by, of all artists, Justin Bieber and Frank Ocean. Bryce often starts on acoustic guitar for that outlaw vibe, then grabs his camo Jackson Flying V and turns the intensity up.

When asked about the rap elements that sometimes appear in his music (and in the work of influences like Post Malone and Kidd G), Bryce is straightforward:

“I feel like the blend can be necessary and unnecessary. It depends on the approach — some people do it because it’s trendy and some people do it because that’s just who they are or that’s what they naturally create. I’ll use rap elements sometimes but nothing that will make someone write it off as rap music,” he said.

It’s an authentic, organic fusion — not forced, not trendy — that feels real to a younger audience while still delivering straight-up rock and roll energy. Built for the stage, their live shows are loud, high-energy, and unapologetically real — connecting with crowds across Texas and beyond.

The Band & Deep Texas Connections

B3 is stacked with proven Texas players:

  • Bryce Waters – Lead Singer
  • Jeremy Baker – Lead Guitar
  • Layne Haddock – Rhythm Guitar (La Vernia native)
  • Andrew Carey – Bass Guitar (original member of the very popular band named Treaty Oak Revival)
  • Garin Shelton – Drums (a Van, Texas powerhouse who hits like a young Tommy Lee)

Treaty Oak Revival has become one of the hottest acts in the current Texas/Red Dirt wave. Their high-energy blend of rock, country, and raw attitude has driven massive streaming numbers, chart success, and huge crowds.

Bryce Waters has an especially close connection to that world. He engineered and produced Sterling Elza’s very first song, “Throw Away” (the original 2021 solo version). Sterling later re-recorded it as a full-band version featuring Treaty Oak Revival, which became a major breakout hit with 26 million streams on Spotify. Bryce has continued collaborating closely with Sterling — co-writing tracks like “Check Mate” and contributing as a composer on songs such as “Lie to You.”

That level of trust helped Bryce sharpen his own Cowboy Punk sound. It also says a lot that when Andrew Carey stepped away from Treaty Oak Revival (due to the physical demands of the road), he joined B3 full-time at the end of 2025. For Carey, B3 is a startup project he's willing to devote his talent and high energy to.

If you’re into Koe Wetzel, Post Malone’s rock side, MGK’s attitude, Sterling Elza, Treaty Oak Revival, or anything in the rising Texas rock wave, B3 delivers it loud and live.

To evaluate their fusion approach to climbing the world of Texas Music, you are welcome to see them this weekend at the Arc Light. You can decide for yourself if B3 is the next big thing in Texas music.
