Rap Legend Paul Wall to Headline YMCA Benefit Concert in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Rap legend Paul Wall is scheduled to perform in San Angelo this summer as part of a benefit concert for the YMCA.

Wall and other rappers will perform with the San Angelo Community Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Murphey Performance Hall, 72 W. College Ave.

The concert, titled “Chopped & Orchestrated: A Paul Wall & Friends Experience,” will blend Southern rap and R&B with the power and elegance of a live orchestra, according to the YMCA.

The event, presented by Sonora Bank, is being held as part of the YMCA’s 175th anniversary celebration. All proceeds will benefit the YMCA of San Angelo's childcare programs and summer camp scholarships.

It is being billed as an all-ages concert.

The orchestra will be directed by Dr. Fagner Rocha, associate professor of music and director of orchestral activities at Angelo State University.

Presale tickets will be available Wednesday, Feb. 18, with code SONORABANK on the San Angelo Performing Arts Center’s website here.
