CHRISTOVAL, TX — A special benefit concert will take place Sept. 20 at The Icehouse in Christoval, raising funds and awareness for Huntington’s disease through an evening of family-friendly live music.
Country artist Bri Bagwell, who will headline the show, she said she’s honored to be part of the event.
“They reached out to our team, and it just worked with our schedule,” Bagwell said in a recent interview. “We love getting to play music for a great cause. It’s one way we try to give back when we can.”
Though she has no personal ties to Huntington’s disease, Bagwell shared that the heartbreaking stories of families impacted by it, including those who have lost children to the illness, moved her and her team to take part in the event.
The benefit aims to offer not only financial support but also a night of joy and community.
“Music is a little bit of an escape from the hard realities of life,” she said. “Hopefully this show gives people a moment of that.”
The performance at The Icehouse will lean more toward family-friendly entertainment, including 90s country covers and potential surprises for younger audience members.
The event is part of a packed touring schedule for Bagwell, who has been performing across Texas for over a decade. Following the Christoval show, she heads on an acoustic tour through six states and has appearances lined up in Key West, Mexico, and on a Texas country music cruise next year.
In addition to her music career, Bagwell also hosts a podcast titled Only Vans, a play on words referencing her touring van, which recently hit the top 10% of all podcasts globally. The show features notable guests from the Texas country scene, including Rick Trevino, Reckless Kelly, and others.
Despite a busy schedule, Bagwell said shows like the one in Christoval remain some of the most meaningful.
“Sometimes it’s nice to just stop and realize how grateful I am for what we’ve done — and what we get to do,” she said.
The benefit concert at The Icehouse will be open to the public, and proceeds will support families affected by Huntington’s disease. Be sure to make your way out there on Saturday, Sept. 20 in order to support a good cause.
