METROPOLIS — Superman is flying into theaters this summer, and the film’s director James Gunn has dropped a brand-new trailer online.
The trailer starts off with Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan, interviewing David Corenswet’s Clark Kent or Superman, about involving himself in a conflict trying to avoid a war. We then get shots of Superman being battered by the Hammer of Boravia, saving and being helped by civilans, and of course, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor. The trailer ends with Superman laying on a bed with his super dog, Krypto, wagging his tail while laying on Superman’s chest.
The movie is directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy franchise) and is produced by Peter Safran, who is serving DC as the co-chairperson and co-CEO of DC Studios.
The cast of Superman includes:

- Rachel Brosnahan (Patriots Day, The Amateur) as Lois Lane
- Nicholas Hoult (Nosferatu, Mad Max Fury Road) as Lex Luthor
- Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Percy Jackson: Seas of Monsters) as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern
- Isabela Merced (The Last of Us Part II, Alien: Romulus) as Hawkgirl
- Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class, Twilight) as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific
- Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham) as Rex Mason/Metamorpho
- Pruitt Taylor Vince (Mississippi Burning, Constantine) as Jon Kent
- Neva Howell (October Sky, Logan Lucky) as Martha Kent
- Wendell Pierce (Jack Ryan, Selma) as Perry White
The film also includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.
Also expected to make an appearance is Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon, The School) as Kara Zor-El or Supergirl, Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy franchise) as Maxwell Lord, and Alan Tudyk, Michael Rooker, and Grace Chan as Four, Five, and Twelve, Kyrptonian robots at the Fortress of Solitude.
Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
