Angelo State's Piano Studio to Present Spring Concert

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University's Piano Studio program will present its spring public concert on Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The concert will take place in the Carr EFA Building's Eldon Black Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. It will feature four ASU music/piano students performing a selection of solo piano pieces by various classical and modern composers.

The musical program will include:

  • "June: Barcarolle" from "The Seasons" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
  • "Etude Op. 25 no. 2" by Frederic Chopin
  • "Reverie" by Claude Debussy
  • "Sonata Op. 10 no. 2" by Ludwig van Beethoven
  • "Camella" by Juan Arenosa
  • "Misty" by Erroll Garner
  • Variations on "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" by Martin Smith

ASU students to perform are Emmanuel Hernandez of Del Rio, David Padgett of Tarpley, Yumiko Win-Din of Yangon, Burma, and Michaela Zimmerman of San Angelo.

The ASU Piano Studio is directed by Dr. Steven Keniston, senior instructor of music.
