HOLLYWOOD— Adam Sandler returns to the golf course in the first official trailer for Happy Gilmore 2.
Nearly 30 years after the original, Netflix has dropped the trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 online and it features a lot of golf royalty and familiar faces.
While an official synopsis has not been released yet, Happy Gilmore 2 will be available on Netflix this summer on July 25, 2025.
Returning to the lead role is Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore and he also brings back Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, and Ben Stiller as Hal, who was the ill-tempered nursing home employee.
Joining the cast are some big-name golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris, as well as Paige Spiranac and John Daly.
Happy Gilmore 2 is directed by Kyle Newacheck, who also directed Game Over, Man! And Murder Mystery. The cast includes:
- Adam Sandler (Billy Madison, The Waterboy) as Happy Gilmore
- Julie Bowen (Modern Family, Horrible Bosses) as Virginia Venit
- Allen Cover (Grandma’s Boy, Strange Wilderness) as Otto
- Dennis Dugan (The Benchwarmers, Grown Ups 2) as Doug Thompson
- Christopher McDonald (Thelma & Louise, Leave It to Beaver) as Shooter McGavin
- Ben Stiller (Tropic Thunder, Madagascar) as Hal L
- Bad Bunny (Bullet Train, F9) as Happy’s caddie
- Kym Whitley (Fist Fight, We Bought a Zoo) as Bessie
Also in the cast are Maxwell Jacob Friedman (The Iron Claw), Scott Mescudi a.k.a. Kid Cudi (Need for Speed), Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer), Nich Swardson (Grandma’s Boy). Rumored in the cast are Eminem (8 Mile), the NFL’s Reggie Bush and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend (Travis Kelce), Dan Patrick, and Becky Lynch.
Happy Gilmore 2 releases on Netflix on July 25, 2025.
