SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County Sheriff Nick Hanna is set to spend some time "behind bars"—all for a good cause. Sheriff Hanna is participating in a unique fundraiser organized by the Tom Green County Detention Center chaplaincy program, aimed at supporting its mission to provide spiritual guidance and resources to inmates.
The event challenges the community to “bail out” the sheriff by raising $2,500, with proceeds going directly to fund materials like Bibles and other resources used in the chaplaincy program. These resources play a vital role in the program's efforts to minister to incarcerated individuals, helping them find hope, healing, and a path to personal growth.
The chaplains describe their vision: “Through God Comes Justice envisions a Concho Valley where children, individuals, and families impacted by incarceration are spiritually nourished, emotionally supported, and successfully reintegrated into the community.” They aim to ensure that every inmate and their families have access to compassionate spiritual support, which can foster meaningful transformations.
To help "free" Sheriff Hanna, community members can make donations online. All contributions will help sustain and expand the chaplaincy’s outreach to inmates and their loved ones.
