Gladiator II Gets a New Trailer

 

HOLLYWOOD— Gladiator II has released another trailer and has dropped a poster.

It has been over 20 years since the first Gladiator released into theaters, featuring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.

On November 22, Gladiator II released into theaters. The film features Paul Mescal as Lucicus, a character featured in the first Gladiator, portrayed by Spencer Treat Clark.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the synopsis for Gladiator II reads:

Years after witnessing the death of Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius must enter the Colosseum after the powerful emperors of Rome conquer his home. With rage in his heart and the future of the empire at stake, he looks to the past to find the strength and honor needed to return the glory of Rome to its people.


Ridley Scott, director of Alien, Blade Runner, and the first Gladiator, returns to the director’s chair for the sequel.

The cast includes:

  • Paul Mescal (After Sun, All of Us Strangers) as Lucius Verus
  • Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, Game of Thrones) as Marcus Acacius
  • Denzel Washington (Remember the Titans, Man on Fire) as Macrinus
  • Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things 4, A Quiet Place: Day One) as Emperor Geta
  • Fred Hechinger (The Pale Blue Eye, News of the World) as Emperor Caracalla
  • Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman, Nobody) as Lucilla
  • Derek Jacobi (The King’s Speech, The Golden Compass) as Senator Gracchus

Gladiator II is set to hit theaters on November 22, 2024.
