Shrek 5 Gets a Release Date

 

HOLLYWOOD— Shrek 5 is official and a release date has been announced.

Dreamworks Animation has officially announced, that after what will be 16 years after the last installment, Shrek 5 will hit theaters. In a Tweet, Dreamworks said “The All-Star Returns” and is expected to drop in theaters on June 1, 2026.

Shrek, released in 2001, was a massive hit and has gained popularity that not only sparked three sequels, but spin offs as well with the Puss-N-Boots franchise. Putting their own spoofy spin on fairy tale creatures like the Gingerbread Man, the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White, and the Fairy Godmother.

Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy are returning to the Swamp as Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey respectively.
