Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetle... Legacy Sequel Drops Trailer!

HOLLYWOOD— The legacy sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 hit movie Beetlejuice has dropped a trailer.

After a couple failed attempts, we will finally get a sequel to Burton’s Beetlejuice titled, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

The synopsis for the film reads:

“Three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s (Winona Ryder) life soon gets turned upside down when her rebellious teenaged daughter (Jenna Ortega) discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife. When someone say Beetlejuice’s name three times, the mischievous demon gleefully returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”

Returning to the director’s chair is the one and only Tim Burton, who directed Batman, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the first Beetlejuice film. The sequel will also see the return of Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara.

After the first Beetlejuice, Burton, Keaton, and Ryder were set to return for an immediate sequel in Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian but those plans fell through.

The cast includes:

  • Michael Keaton (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Batman) as Betelgeuse
  • Winona Ryder (Stranger Things, Edward Scissorhands) as Lydia Deetz
  • Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek, Home Alone) as Delia Deetz
  • Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream Franchise) as Astrid Deetz
  • Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, Zoolander) as Rory
  • Monica Bellucci (Spectre, Bram Stoker’s Dracula) as Betelgeuse’s Wife
  • Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man, Finding Nemo) as Wolf Jackson

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
