Tales of the Empire Releases on May the 4th Star Wars Day

HOLLYWOOD— With May the 4th Star Wars Day upon us, Disney and Star Wars are dropping six episodes on their new animated show, “Tales of the Empire” on Disney+.

The official synopsis for “Tales of the Empire” reads:

“Star Wars: Tales of the Empire explores the darker side of the Galactic Empire through the journeys of two warriors. With a stellar cast and the creative genius Dave Filoni behind the scenes, the series promises an immersive and thrilling addition to the Star Wars universe.”

In the trailer, Star Wars fanatics will recognize Grand Admiral Thrawn, Morgan Elsbeth, General Grevious, and Barriss Offee. Not only those characters but the Grand Inquisitor makes an appearance as does Star Wars big bad Darth Vader.

Fans will remember Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Ashoka series, played by Lars Mikkelsen, the same actor who did the live action and the voice role in the cartoons. Morgan Elsbeth also appeared in Ashoka but first showed up in season two of “The Mandalorian” in control of the planet Corvus, which also makes an appearance in the trailer above.

Returning to the Star Wars universe in “Tales of the Empire” are Meredith Dawn Salenger, who wil voice Barriss Offee and has been voicing the character since The Clone Wars animated show, Jason Issacs (The Patriot, Harry Potter franchise) as the Grand Inquisitor, Diana Lee Inosanto, who will voice and played the live action role of Morgan Elsbeth, Lars Mikkelsen of course as Admiral Thrawn, and Matthew Wood, who is a veteran Star Wars voice actor, as General Grevious.

Tales of the Empire airs on Disney+ on May 4th.
